Each member of our team has more than 30 years of experience in business strategy, process improvement and project management.

Dave Kerney

Dave is an executive and a leader with 30 years of experience in business strategy and development, business process and process implementation. He has successfully built collaboration between diverse business units within organizations that he’s founded and for which he’s been employed.

As President and Founder of ColdCypress, with a minimal investment, Dave grew the company to a multi-service IT consulting firm, and in year five, led the acquisition of a local Pittsburgh IT firm. In year seven, he architected the sale of the firm to Konica Minolta.

Prior to ColdCypress, he spent seven years at XiTech, a 200-person multi-city IT consulting firm where he built an application development practice, managed several multi-million dollar projects and eventually led XiTech’s many service divisions, including over 100 engineers.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

Robert Farrell

Bob has more than 25 years of experience improving business processes and procedures using technology to increase quality, value and time-to-delivery. Bob is a business professional who provides consultation, leadership and execution of enterprise-wide solutions.

As a strategic thinker, he has the ability to envision the future while executing short-term objectives in a changing business landscapes. Bob is problem-solving oriented with the demonstrated ability to influence direction outside of a defined span of control.

With business experience in big data analytics across verticals such as manufacturing, finance, healthcare, retail and airline operations, Bob also has a solid background in security, hardware, operating systems, development frameworks, databases, information retrieval and analytical tools.

Throughout his career, Bob has held various positions in systems architecture and design, software engineering, systems and process implementation, operations research, project management, leadership and operations.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, from Penn State University.

Carl Humes

Carl is a seasoned executive and leader with more than 25 years of experience as a management consultant, COO and CIO in a variety of industries including technology, consulting, construction, education, and software development in both public and private companies. Carl focuses on delivering business strategy and development, business process and process implementation, and consulting to our clients. He is highly adept at rapidly understanding critical business issues and making a positive impact quickly in all areas of business operations.

He has held critical senior executive roles completing both IPO and merger and acquisitions activities on both the buy and sell sides of the table. Carl also spent nearly 10 years in the US Navy serving as a Nuclear Submarine Officer and Emergency Operations Officer directly for the President of the United States.

Carl holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Temple University with advanced graduate studies in the areas of engineering, technology, finance, and management.

Jim Walter

Jim has 40 years of experience managing the planning, design and construction of public works projects, with the majority of his experience directed towards construction projects including transit facilities, buildings, bridges, roadways, tunnels and airports. He has led multidisciplinary teams through the successful completion of numerous projects.

He is very cooperative and his team building approach encourages team members to work together to optimize performance. He is schedule driven, cost conscious and responsive to project stakeholders.

Jim’s career has focused on supervising professional staff and projects, ranging from small task orders to multi-million projects. He has a comprehensive understanding of project development from the concept stage through commissioning of a facility. He has successfully led multi-disciplined teams through planning, design and management and he is a proven leader with numerous successful projects.

Prior to working with Parson Brinckerhoff, Jim served as Assistant Vice President for a construction management firm, overseeing construction management and inspection for the some of the region’s most notable projects during that timeframe. Jim also served in multiple positions with the Port Authority of Allegheny County, Conrail and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State University and is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
